Take it Outside!

How do you feel when you are moving outside? What if you could feel more capable, calm, and confident that you can bounce back from stress?


Soak in the Energy of the Earth -- did you know that just being in nature can boost your mood and increase your energy? Moving outdoors has been shown to reduce anger and depression and improve mood (Barton and Pretty, 2010). Exposure to sunlight enhances vitamin D production, which may be partially responsible for this mood-enhancing effect.  


Being outdoors provides a variety of environments and challenges for fitness and movement. You can hike, bike, cross train, play sports, or just play games or garden. It’s up to you whatever gets you going!


We live in a busy distracted world. Our minds are filled with worry, anger, overwhelm, and stress! It’s difficult to manage all that we have going on in our lives.


Mindfulness is a focus on the power of being “present” and how to “respond” rather than “react” to our bodies “fight or flight” response.  Take a walk whether it be to the mailbox, down the block, around your office building. While you are outside, try to connect to your thoughts mindfully and take meaningful breaths.
